We are a group of individuals and families from Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland, and New Zealand. We are aged in our 20's through to 80's. We are universally saddened and appalled at what has come to light in 'The Truth', and the historical failure and refusal of the ministry and some laity in doing what is right.
We acknowledge some positive steps forward. However we also recognise that these steps have often not come willingly from the ministry, and only under immense public pressure or threat of publicity. We don't seek to tear down the ministry or destroy the fellowship. We do resolutely stand for and seek authenticity, honesty, and transparency. We seek to learn again deeply and to grow our individual relationships with God. We are vulnerable, exploring, discovering, shocked, and saddened. We are not bible scholars or theologians. We are just normal people you all know and meet with. We are some of your grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
We are exploring and questioning in public as part of our cathartic strengthening journey. We don't seek to put a stumbling block in front of anyone. We contend that the actual stumbling block is the historical failures within the fellowship.
You have the joyous gift of freedom to not read and not agree. You, not us, get to choose where to cast your eyes and what to spend your time on. We find this helpful and needed.
We don't seek to usurp or replace any of the other wonderful and useful resources, forums, and selfless efforts being undertaken around the world. This is to help us and our families. Maybe someone else will be helped too.
We stand with the survivors and honour those who have tried bravely to do what is right.
